Venue: at Home

Finborough A team burst out of the gates like a tsunami of unstoppable footballing power and dominated proceedings from the very first whistle with Jacob Ford breaking out a celebratory front flip after finding the net from a Seb Wells pass within the first minute. Jacob doubled his tally before long, latching onto a ball from James Beswick before the provider turned goal scorer and James tapped in a deft finish to make it 3-0. Hongbo also smashed in a tally of his own, assisted by Kian O’Dwyer before half time meaning Finborough went in to the break a comfortable 4-0 up and buoyant.

With a constant rotation of positions and players the second half continued to favour Finborough as every player was able to display the passing game we have developed over recent weeks in training, maintaining possession and creating plenty of chances. Isaac, Leo and Sully were unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet but Kian and James added another solo goal each before Seb capped off the afternoon with a mazy and mercurial run through defenders as though they weren’t there before tucking home an emphatic finish. Casper “Schmichael” Treby was once again a wall in net and though he was relatively idle, made outstanding saves every time he was called into action ensuring he, and the team posted a shutout.

An outstanding performance from all with standout work from James Beswick, Jacob Ford, Sully Grooms and Seb Wells especially. The game deserved to be televised!
